I am alive

I am alive I just am a blacker or slogger (which one do you like better). Hehe, I know that is dorky. So lately I have been reflective of my self and my life choices. I have never been one with tons of ambition or a drive to accomplish incredible things. I have always been a person who enjoys going with the flow and I especially love someone saying this is something you could do and this is exactly how to accomplish it. But as my children have gotten older I have appreciated the example of my husband on going and getting things for yourself. He has accomplished so many things in his life, yes he has had many people help him along the way, but he would have done them anyway. I want to be that way especially for an example to my children. I want all my kids to get PhD's or equivalent if they want (my boys have to get one :) and I want them to run marathons and play sports and be great kinds people. I have discovered as I watch some of my dear friends parent and some of you have your children grown that the way to encourage my children to reach for the sky is to do it my self. In saying all that I have made goals to change and add things to my life, I have started training for a triathlon that I hope to do the beginning of June. I have started journaling and thinking about my life outside of motherhood, "what do I want to be when I am not raising my kids, where do I want to be when they are grown and how do I prepare now to get there?" I have been investing more in my marriage and yes marriage is an investment, I know from personal experience if you are not putting things into it right now it want be strong for retirement. I am not usually one that likes to write a lot on my blog I prefer more pictures, but every once in a while it feels good. Happy Easter

Computers Argh!

So we were having MAJOR computer problems. I have had a really ruff time with blogging and email the last month and then last week our computer went down for good. We thought it was dead and Taylor and I were very sad thinking we lost our recent photos. But with A LOT of time Taylor has brought the old girl back to life. Our pictures are safe and everything is working just fine. So we (mostly Taylor has spent the last 2 hours backing everything up on discs and I have given him a new commitment that I will be better at backing up photos and other important things so we don't have this kind of drama again.

Goofing Around

The first pictures are of Amelia and her baby doing what her mommy does best. Then we have a series of goofing around photos, all the kids wrestling with dad, Amelia twirling, Jordan playing with the now absent front tooth, Amelia in her first set of curlers (which we will never do again, she has way to much curl in her hair already and it took two days before it looked like she had any hair) and then we have bath time with Jazz. At the bottom are the only pictures I have of the 80's party we went to for New Years Eve. It was the bomb, Taylor and I were the Karate Kid and Ali (his girlfriend), I wish I had a photo of me from the side view, I don't have bangs (I can pull my layers into a pony)so you can imagine how big that curl was for those totally righteous bangs. I can't believe I didn't have pictures of everyone else that were there. It was a bodaciousally radical party.

She Sits...but she doesn't roll.

It is official, Jasmin sits! I had her at (on) the table with us and she sat there unassisted for at least 5 minutes and then with a little wobble I steadied her by putting my hand on her arm and she was fine for almost ten minutes. She even was reaching over to grab things and looking around at every one else. I am so shocked, the very limited rolling (I can count them on one hand) is not uncommon for my kids, they usually start moving on the late side of average. But the sitting thing doesn't usually happen until eight months or so and even then I have to put pillows around just in case. I think at this rate Jazz will be past the pillows, well, like now. Kids they never cease to amaze!

Updates #2

Vegas Party at the "Babylon Towers" We were supposed to dress like anything you may find in Vegas.
I have had people make comments about how we have a lot of dress up parties, well after going to a few, I have decided they are the most fun! Taylor and I are contemplating what theme we are going to do, we are thinking 20's style.
All the girls

The Guys

The "Babylon Towers" developers "Chip" and the Gold Digger (see her shovel)

"Dale" and Dancer

The High Rollers (we are not as creative yet)

The Wealthy and her Boy Toy

Elves and Priscilla

Shot Gun Wedding couple(she is pregnant)

Old Tourist

Elvis (the later years) and date

The Couple Interrupted (she has jogging pants under the underwear)

Pimp Daddy and Cheap Date

There were others I just didn't have pictures of them.
Let it snow
I love the snow, especially here where it generally doesn't last more then a day.
Taylor's birthday, we did a surprise party for him I wish I had taken a picture when we all yelled surprise, he had the most stunned expression. We played this big group game called Werewolves, (which is a lot like Mafia) thus the cake. Jasmin and the dress I made for her.
Bath time, I had all the babe's in the bath but the boys didn't want there necked pictures on the blog.
This is the outfit my mom knit for Jasmin, I love this pattern I can't wait to make more pants for her.

I could CRY!

It is official Taylor and I have been married nine years and guess what happens. I wake up this morning look in the mirror and what do I see glowing brightly at me... A GREY HAIR (it is actually more silver, which sounds better anyway). I don't color my hair at all so I haven't been blissfully ignorant, but I have always told Taylor that as soon as I start going grey he is going to have to start forking out the dough for some cool highlights. So maybe next spring I will start having a real cool hairdo. Well maybe not, I saw a sister in our ward on Sunday who has the prettiest silver hair, and I have heard once you start coloring it is hard to stop.
