More from Alaska

Juno Tram
That is our boat way down at the end of the tram lines. This ride takes you straight up the mountain!
Wild Life
Being ferried from our boat to Sitka (way to shallow and to many islands to get very close)
Our boat from our land after we picked up our bikes.
Getting ready to start our mountain bike ride. There were lots of very steep ups and very steep downs and although I enjoy mountain biking I wasn't about to get all bruised up on my vacation, everyone else agreed so we had to walk our bikes a bit.
This picture is from our boat. One of the little islands and the town of Sitka. You can tell where the very rich live.

June 2010

Alaska,
This has been my all time favorite vacation!!!! I would do this again in a heart beat! We went on this trip with our good friends Sterling and Sherilee. This is Ketchikan Alaska, we took a week cruise on the Oosterdam (Holland America) cruise ship. Very classy! We stopped in Juno, Ketchikan, Sitka and British Columbia. This glacier is receding so fast that if we were there when the visitors center was built in the eighty's we would have been standing on the glacier. The one thing I will tell you is, if glaciers interest you at all I would start exploring them now as all but a few of the ones close to us, are disappearing quickly. It was so amazing!
We were always wet and it was cold, but that is why I wore two pairs of pants and plenty of layers up top. (Although I do run cold, as you can tell looking at Taylor and Sterling they don't seem to be bothered much by the weather.) These photos were taken from the boat as we were traveling up a fjord.
We were hearing lots of cracking and watching the small boat size pieces fall into the water. I happened to take this picture and the next one as a piece the size of a large fishing boat came crashing into the water. It was so large that it made our ship rock pretty seriously even though we were quite the distance from the glacier. We were so lucky to see that much calving while we were there. We were told, generally you don't see that large of a piece come off but maybe once a season.
If you compare the two pictures you can see the crack were it is beginning to pull away.

In June of 2010 we took a great vacation to Utah. We went four wheeling and canoeing, played at the farm and oh yes, Adam (Taylor's brother) got married.
Getting our toes done before the wedding.

IT IS MY LAST DAY!!!

I know I am supposed to be catching up and I will I promise but I just had to post my mild anxiety about leaving a decade, yes that is right today is my last day in my twenties . I wanted to plan a big party but Taylor and I just got home from a cruise to Alaska so my ability to spend is on hold for awhile. I thought I was going to be more gracious about this change because I don't feel any older in fact I feel better then I ever remember feeling, I think it is just a big sign of how fast time really goes by. My kids don't stop growing, we're already more then half way to college with Jordan, Dale is getting baptized this month, Amelia will start school this year and Jasmin is asking to use the potty! Anyway, I hope I don't just burst into tears tomorrow morning.
On a lighter note, Happy Fourth of July everyone!
